Up until 1970 it was uncertain whether it was at all possible to farm salmon in the sea.
Through the years Norwegian fish farmers have built up a wealth of knowledge.

Today, people from all over the world are interested in learning fish farming from Norway.

About 4000 people work directly in the Norwegian fish farming industry. In total, we can estimate that over 20,000 people are employed as a result of this industry.

Norway has become an excellent land to live in because of its resources. Now it is the fish farming industry that will give the country growth, and today's fish farmers will play a very important role in the future of coastal Norway.

With the Norwegian coast as a natural foundation, we can strengthen settlements in rural areas along the coast. The Norwegian coast is still among the cleanest in the world and is well suited for seafood production.
